How to handle Breast Milk Flowing Too Fast?

Overactive Let Down and milk oversupply are  common causes of baby’s chocking while breastfeeding. Here are the expert tips for preventing choking.
  1. Express milk for 1-2 minutes before nursing if you have a forceful letdown
  2. Hold the baby in a Semi-Upright Position, supporting their head and neck.
  3. Ensure a good latch by aligning the baby’s nose with the nipple.
  4. Nurse in laid back position and get your baby’s head slightly higher than the level of breast.  This reverses gravity effect and allow baby to have more control the flow of the milk .
  5. If Big Let-Down comes during breast-feeding, you can take your baby off the breast for 20-30 seconds. Let the spray go until it slow down then only put your baby back on.
  6. Observe your baby sucks and swallow. If your baby doesn’t take a breath, you can pull your baby off the breast once in awhile and take a few seconds rest. So your baby can breath.
  7. Take breaks during feeding to burp the baby. This lets them clear any trapped air and helps prevent choking.
  8. Watch for signs of fullness, like turning away or stopping sucking. Don’t force more milk if the baby seems satisfied
