Paced Bottle Feeding
When your baby is bottle feeding, it is important to control the flow of milk coming out of bottle, so your baby can feed at a comfortable pace. Paced bottle feeding is a technique that allows your baby to drinks more slowly and takes breaks, helping to prevent overfeeding and chocking.- Use bottle with wide based slow flow nipple
- Holding your baby in upright position, supporting their head and neck with your hand
- Touch your baby’s upper lip with the bottle nipple to encourage your baby to open their mouth wide.
- Let your baby pull the bottle into mouth. Do not force the bottle nipple into their mouth.
- During feeding, Hold the bottle horizontally and the nipple should not be full of milk (bottle nipple is partially full).
- Allowing your baby to drink at their own pace.
- Count your baby sucks and swallow. If your baby doesn’t take a breath every 3- 5 sucks, remove the bottle and take a few seconds rest. So your baby can breath.
Prevent chocking during bottle feeding.
